The principles goyerning depth of field
1 . T h e
d e p t h o f f i e l d
i s g r e a t e r a s t h e d i s t a n c e i s
increased or the aperture is stopped down.
2. The
depth of field grows less as the distance is
decreased or the aperture is enlarged.

depth extends greater into the background
than into the foregrouncl.

Because the depth of field can be controlled by the
aperture stops, you can either bring

b y p u r p o s e l y
m a k i n g
t h e
background out of focus.
