Large Spacer
• Insert two large spacers into the holes in the front end of
the vehicle, as shown.
• Rotate the brush guard up into place.
• Insert two #8 x 2

" screws through the brush guard,

large spacers and into the front end of the vehicle.
Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
Do not over-tighten.

• Loosen the screw in the battery compartment door on
the actions sounds console with a Phillips screwdriver.
Lift to remove the battery compartment door.
• Insert three alkaline "AA" (LR6) batteries, as indicated
inside the battery compartment.
Hint: We recommend using alkaline batteries for longer
battery life.
• Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the
screw with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.

Battery Tips
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard
(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
• Remove the batteries during long periods of non-use.
Always remove exhausted batteries from the toy. Battery
leakage and corrosion can damage this toy. Dispose of
batteries safely.
• Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The batteries may
explode or leak.
• Never short circuit the battery terminals.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as
recommended in the "Battery Installation" instructions
are to be used.
• If removable rechargeable batteries are used, they are
only to be charged under adult supervision.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy
before they are charged.
• If you use a battery charger, it should be examined
regularly for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure and
other parts. Do not use a damaged battery charger until
it has been properly repaired.
• When sounds or lights become faint or do not work at all,
it's time for an adult to replace the batteries!

Running Board
• Make sure the hole in one of the running board tabs
(see assembly step 2 on page 10 for reference) is
aligned with the hole in the floor of the vehicle body.
Insert a #8 x
3
/
" screw through the hole in the vehicle

body floor and into the running board tab. Tighten the
screw using a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.
• Repeat this procedure to fasten the other running
board to the bottom of the vehicle with the remaining
#8 x
3
/
" screw.
