    HARD DISK CONFIGURATION (NON- INTERNAL HARD DISK VERSION ONLY) After installing internal hard disk, you need to configure it in order to enjoy the full features of the system. To do so: 1.Insert the Installation CD and install the Hard Disk Formatter. 2.Connect the system with PC.

  • Page 23 BASIC OPEARTION POWER ON There are 2 ways to power on the device: -By pressing the hard power switch at the back panel from “0” to “I”. -By pressing the power button on the front panel if the hard power is on. It will automatically go to the music mode at once.

    MODE CHANGE There are 6 sources. Press Source button to change the mode. The Player mode and Card mode will be skipped if there is no external USB device or card detected. for playing music stored in hard drive for playing songs from any portable USB device for playing songs in MMC/ SD card for listening to FM/ AM radio for playing songs from any audio source from line-in.

    BROWSING SONG Songs are grouped by different categories, namely playlist, artist, album, song, genre and year. The last level is the song level. Use the scroll wheel to highlight the desired item and press the right key or center key to confirm or go to the next page.
  • Page 27 PLAYING SONGS IN PORTABLE USB DEVICE/ SD CARD Besides playing songs from internal hard disk, PD 5000 also supports playing songs from portable USB device or card and read songs’ title in the music library. Place the external USB device to the USB socket at the top panel or place a card into the card socket. Then press the Source button to toggle to Player mode or Card mode.
  • Page 28 FILL-IT-UP (COPY SONGS TO YOUR PORTABLE DEVICE) This function allows transfer of internal hard disk songs to portable device or card. It detects the remaining capacity of your portable device automatically and fill up the space available with songs in the internal hard disk. In Player/Card mode, pressing Fill-it-up button will start copying songs to the portable device until it’s 100% done.

    UPGRADE FIRMWARE Before performing this function, the latest firmware release file should be downloaded to the internal hard disk. The firmware file and upgrade procedure can be found in the web.(www.perceptiondigital.com) VERSION Version no of the firmware in the device. CLOCK SETTING Select 12 hours or 24 hours display.

    ADVANCED OPERATION SMART MENU Smart Menu is a function to provide instant access o the most common features. To enter “Smart Menu”, press the Smart Menu button on the front panel. Options on the display corresponds to the mapping of 5 buttons on the front panel. Example: Assume you want to change playmode during playback.
