    Installation Connect the power adapter to a surge protector or power outlet and to the DriveStation. Then, use either the USB cable or the IEEE1394 cable to connect the DriveStation to your computer. Change the power mode switch on the back to “AUTO”. The power LED will glow and your computer will install the drive automatically.
  • Page 4 Format By default, the DriveStation is formatted with FAT32, allowing it to be used with OS X, Windows operating systems. If you’re going to use it with programs that generate filesizes larger than 4GB, such as backup or video editing software, reformat the DriveStation as an NTFS drive (Windows), or a Mac OS Extended drive (Mac).
  • Page 5 Optional Utilities The DriveStation includes several optional utilities. To install and use these utilities, follow Installation menu located on your DriveStation or download from our website (http://www.buffalotech.com). Note: Disk Formatter, SecureLockWare, and eco Manager are supported on Windows PC only. The TurboUSB utility improves data transfer speeds for your DriveStation.

    Troubleshooting The following is a list of common issues with the DriveStation. Following each issue are possible resolutions. I see the DriveStation in My Computer but I cannot access it. The drive requires formatting. Try using the Disk Formatter Utility available on our website www.buffalotech.com.
