Page 30: Genlock Horizontal And Sub Carrier Adjustments
The horizontal phase adjustment allows the user to advance or delay the ViewMAX encoded composite signal in relation to the Genlock signal. In order to allow for cable or other system delays, ViewMAX output can be adjusted in 37.037 ns (nanoseconds) steps which corresponds to ½ pixel, between 400 half-pixels of delay and 270 half pixels of advance. -

A typical application of background keying is the weather map scenario. In this case, the background video is a live shot of a blue screen (or whatever the chosen chroma-key color is). The ViewMAX is set to key on this screen color. -

Gain When the Luma function is selected, ViewMAX ignores the color of the key source (background or foreground) when determining if the key is ON or OFF. Instead, only the Luma value (the lightness) of each pixel is used in determining if the key is ON or OFF. -

RS-485 Device Address This selection allows the RS-485 device address to be set. The RS-485 serial port allows the ViewMAX to be used in a multi-drop environment with other devices. It also allows longer distances between a controlling host computer and the ViewMAX. -

Genlock decoder, the output video encoder, the non-volatile memory storage device, and the input video mixer (ViewMAX-PRO only). The tests takes a few minutes and cannot be interrupted. PASS should be displayed for all listed devices. -

All RS-232 commands are to end with ‘\r’ (an ASCII carriage return) delimiter. This delimiter signifies the completion of a command line string. ViewMAX will attempt to process the command only after the ‘\r’ is received. For example, “FREEZE 0\r” would be a valid RS-232 command line string. Please refer to Chapter 5 for a detailed list of serial commands. -
