    inserTing The baTTerY Open the Battery Compartment on the back of the scale . Insert 1 9V battery according to the polarity indicators inside the Battery Compartment and close the Battery Compartment door . When “LO” appears on the LCD screen, the battery needs to be replaced . note: if the scale is not going to be used for an extended period of time, remove the battery before storing.

    2 . Step on the scale, centering your feet on the 12 ELECTRODES on the top . Be sure to cover as many of the ELECTRODES with your heels and balls of your feet as possible . 3 . Wait while the scale measures your weight . It will show on the LCD DISPLAY in under 5 seconds .

    4. set normal or athlete After the Gender is confirmed, the Normal or Athlete display blinks . Using the UP and DOWN buttons, choose either Normal or Athlete and press MODE to confirm . A beep sound indicates setting is complete . At this time the r icon will show on the LCD DISPLAY to indicate the scale is ready for use .

    seTTing The MeMorY This scale has the memory capacity for 4 users . This will allow 4 people to store and recall their own Height, Age, Gender and Normal/Athlete tendencies . First, follow the steps to set your Height, Age, Gender and if you are of Normal or Athletic build on page 12 .

    clearing MeMorY While the scale is off, press either the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to scroll through the 4 memory locations . When the memory location of your choice is showing a bar, press the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously, and that memory location will clear of any preset data .

The use of BIA to estimate body fat has been used since the seventies . It was only in the past decade that the estimation of body fat using BIA technology was successfully offered to the consumers in a compact bathroom scale .

T he estimated %TBW may vary according to your hydration level, that is, how much water you have drunk or how much you have sweated immediately prior to the estimation .
