ASSWORD
You can prevent unauthorized access to your Notebook by setting
a User Password. If a User Password is set, you will be prompted
for the password each time the Notebook is started. The User
Password is set in the BIOS (page 56).
Attention: It is important to record your pass-
word in a safe place. If you forget your password,
you will not be able to cancel it or access the
software on your Notebook. If this happens, you
will need to contact your service center.

You can prevent theft by using a special type of lock called a
Kensington Lock, which can be bought at your local retailer.
A Kensington lock has a cable that wraps around a stationary ob-
ject and a "T" shaped end that inserts into the Kensington lock
port on your Notebook. Either a key or combination dial is used to
secure the lock in place.
