Prepare The installation
Site
Your counter-depthrefrigeratoris designedto be part of a built-inkitchen cabinet
system Be sureto coordinatesite preparationand installationwith your kitchen
contractor
Includethese minimumguidelinesinyour site preparation:
Choosea placenear a groundedelectricaloutlet
Do not use an extensioncord or an adapterplug
Avoiddirect sunlightand closeproximityto a range, dishwasheror other
heatsource
Floorshould be leveland able to supporta fully loadedrefrigerator
The refrigerator'sice & Water Dispenserrequireswater supplyaccess
Planfor easy accessto countertops when removingfood
Forcompleteaccessto drawers andfreezer baskets,doorsmust be able to
fully open
Allow the following clearancesfor ease of installation,proper air circulation,and
plumbingand electricalconnections:
Sides& Top:3/8 inch Rear: 1 inch
2 Transport Unpackaged Refrigerator To Site
By now,you have already removedyour refrigerator'sshippingcarton Youmay
still needto use a handtruck to move it throughdose spacesor entrances if the
refrigeratoris larger thanan entrance,considertwo options:
• Removethe entrancedoor if oneexists
• Removethe refrigeratordoors(see how in your Use& Care Guide)
When usinga handtruck:
• Loadrefrigeratorfrom side of cabinetonly
• Do not run retainingstraps over handles
• Do not over-tightenretainingstraps
• Neveruse refrigeratorhandlesto movethe refrigerator
• Removetapefrom doors onlyafter unit is in place
3 Connect Water Supply
What you will need:
• Accessto a cold water line
with pressureof
20-I00 psi
1 • Coppertubing with ¼-inch
(6 4ram) OD. Lengthfor thi_
tubingis the distancefrom
therear of therefrigeratorto your household
water supply line plus 7 feet (2.1 meters)
• Ashut-offvalvefor the connectionbetweenyour household
water fine and the refrigeratorsupply fine
Do not use a self-piercingshut-offvalve
• A compressionnut andferrule (sleeve)for the watersupply
connectionat the rear of your refrigerator
To connect the water supply to the rear of your refrigerator:
! Ensurethat the refrigeratoris not pluggedin
2 Flushthe supply fine until water is clear by placingthe end of the
coppertube in a sinkor bucketand openingthe shut-offvalve
3 Unscrewthe plasticcap from thewater valve inbt at the rearof
your refrigerator Discardthe cap
4 Slide the brass compressionnut, thenthe ferrule (sleeve)onto
copper tube
5 Pushthe coppertube into water valveinlet as far as itwill go
(1/4 inch)
6 Slide the ferrule (sleeve)into valveand finger-tightenthe
compressionnut ontovalve Tightenanotherhalf turn with a
wrench Do not over=tighten
7 Secure the coppertube to your refrigerator'srearpanel with a
steel clamp and screw (seei%stration)
8 Coil the excesscoppertubing (about2% turns) behind your
refrigeratoras shown Arrangeco%d tubing to avoid vibrationor
wear againstother surfaces
9 Open water supply shut-offvalveand tighten any connections
that leak
Piece in Permanent Position
If possible,use a handtruck to positionthe refrigeratordirectly infront of
its cabinetenclosure
Becareful not to move the refrigeratorbeyond its water supply (copper
tubing) connections
Plug inthe powercord, and push the rdrigerator straightback into
place.
5 Leve_ Refrigerator& Adjust Doors (if
necessary)
Guidelinesfor final positioningof yourrefrigerator:
, All four cornersof the cabinetmust rest firmly
on the floor
, The cabinetshouldbe level at the front and rear
, The sidesshouldtilt _Adnch (6 ram)from front to back
(to ensurethat doorsdose and seal properly).
, Doorsshouldalign witheach other and be level
All of these conditionscan be met by raisingor loweringthe
adjustablefront rollers
To adjust the front rollers:
! Open bothdoorsand removethe toe grille by
unscrewingits two mountingscrews andgently pulling
forward(see illustration)
2 Close the doorsand use a fiat-bladescrewdriveror 3/
8-inch socket wrenchto raise or lowerthe front rollers
3 Ensureboth doorsare bind-freewith their seals
touchingthe cabineton all four sides.
4 Replacethe toe grilleby fitting it into place and
refasteningits mountingscrews
