I. Introduction About the CaseCapture HD Digital Video Recorder System The CaseCapture HD Digital Video Recorder System is a digital recording device (documentation system) which can record Standard Definition (SD) & High Definition (HD) video from multiple sources, take digital stills without interrupting the video, and can burn this stored information to a disk for documentation and presentation.

Installing a Monitor To install a monitor, connect a DVI cable (not included) to the DVI port in the back of the CaseCapture HD Digital Video Recorder (Figure 3). Connect an audio cable (not included) from the monitor to the Audio Out port on the CaseCapture HD Digital Video Recorder.
Additional Installations See Figure 4 1. Installing a Printer (optional). Connect a printer using either the Serial Port or a USB port. 2. Installing the Keyboard. Connect the Keyboard to one of the USB ports on the back of the CaseCapture HD Digital Video Recorder.
III. Worklist/DICOM Starting a New Case 1. To start a new case, press the Unscheduled Case button and begin typing in the Patient information (Figure 5). When all the required fields have been entered, the Add to Worklist and Start Case buttons will light up. 2.
Searching the Worklist — New Case from Worklist 1. The Search Worklist feature can be used to search all previous cases on the system (Figure 6). To perform a search, simply fill in the fields and press Search. Search results will display in the Worklist.
Previous Cases 1. Append to Previous Cases is a list of all previously recorded cases stored on the local Hard Drive (Figure 7). Any previously recorded case can be appended by highlighting it and pressing the Start Case button. 2. Upload to Storage Server — Although DICOM will automatically upload cases to the server after they are closed, you can use this server to force a case to be uploaded to the DICOM server at anytime.
DICOM If the system is to be used in conjunction with a DICOM server, it must be setup in advance. This section applies only to systems configured to work with a DICOM server. DICOM Worklist mode is disabled by default. To enable, both the DICOM Worklist Server and the DICOM Storage Server on the Setup page must be connected.
IV. Record Recording / Taking a Still Image 1. To begin recording, tap the Record button (Figure 9). To change the High Definition Recording Properties access the Setup (page 30). 2. To stop and start recording during a session, use the Pause and Record buttons. 3.
Additional Recording Information 1. The Status tab displays information on current segment length, total recording time and disk usage (Figure 10). V. Play Video / Still Image Playback 1. Select a recorded session to play back from the Recording drop down box (Figure 13). This can be the current session, or any previously recorded session. Figure 13: Play Page / Annotation 2.
VI. DVD/USB Single Recording Single Recording allows you to record one or more video/still(s) from a single recording session (Figure 15): 1. Select the Recording from which you wish to burn videos and/or stills. 2. Select the Video(s) and/or Still(s) you would like to burn, by tapping the check box next to the thumbnail.
Multiple Recordings Multiple Recordings allow you to record one or more video/still(s) from multiple recording sessions (Figure 16): 1. Select Recordings to Burn allows you to select videos/stills from different recording sessions, not just the current session. Highlight the session(s) / video(s) / still(s) you want, and click the Select button.
Burning To CD/DVD 1. Insert a blank CD-R or DVD-R into the recorder drive tray. 2. Select the desired Video(s) and/or Still(s) from either Single Recording or Multiple Recording. 3. Use the Locate Disk button to re-read the disk size if another disk is inserted (Figure 17). 4.
Saving To USB Insert a USB Drive into the front of the system. 1. Select the desired Video(s) and/or Still(s) from either Single Recording or Multiple Recording. 2. Select the appropriate drive letter; usually “F:” drive (Figure 18). 3. Tap Copy to Media. A progress bar will appear to show % complete.
VII. Printing Printing Still Images Printing allows the user to select individual stills from one or multiple recordings / cases. 1. Use the drop down menu to Select Recording to Print (Figure 19). 2. Select the Page Layout. 3. Select the individual still images by tapping each image or tapping the All button which will automatically populate the pages to print.
Enhancements Enhancements allow the user to make visual adjustments to still images. 1. Click the Enhancements button (Figure 20). 2. A window will open asking for a password. Leave the password field blank and click OK. Figure 20: Print Page / Enhancements 3.
VIII. Disk Using the Disk Page Disk Management allows users to easily delete old recordings from the CaseCapture HD Digital Video Recorder system’s hard drive. It features a built-in viewer to preview the recordings before deleting them, as well as a table indicating the available recording time at various stream rates. The Disk Manager will automatically pop up whenever hard drive capacity drops below 10% and a new recording session is started.
IX. Setup Recording Storage 1. Default Storage Location is used to select a drive path for storage of all videos and still images (Figure 23). This drive will always be used unless a Remote Storage location is designated (see item #2 below) and an external drive is connected. Note: The default setting is “D:\”...

XI. System Compliance Statements When using USB devices do not touch the USB ports. Contacting the ports may create electrostatic discharge (ESD) which may cause the system to freeze and prevent the USB peripherals from functioning properly. Before restarting the computer, attempt to restore functionality by unplugging the USB device and re-plugging it back into the port.
