    Tyco SNMP Managed Media Converters Page 12 Desktop Installation Set the chassis on a sufficiently large flat space with a power outlet nearby, and near the centre of all networked devices. Make sure mounting surface on the bottom of the chassis is grease and dust free.

    Tyco SNMP Managed Media Converters Page 18 Detailed Configuration Using a Local Console to Connect to the Chassis The console port is a male DB-9 connector located on the front panel of the chassis management card. This port enables a connection to a PC or terminal for monitoring and configuration.

If the settings are not saved, then after a restart the changes will be lost. It is advisable to save settings after any changes have been made.

    Page 30 Web-Based Management The Tyco SNMP Managed Converter Chassis supports an embedded HTML web interface. It offers advanced management features and allows users to manage the device from anywhere on the network using a standard browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer.

If the text “No Response” appears in all the above fields then the security settings of the browser need to be changed to allow the browser to run the Java applets in a secure manner.

This menu allows critical information to be changed and so changes must be made with great care to ensure that management access to the chassis is retained.

In addition, the SNMP variables “get” request, "set” request and “Trap” community name can be configured together with assigning the IP addresses of up to 4 Trap stations.
