Installing the Batteries

Replace the battery cover.

Changing the Batteries

If the sound becomes distorted or if the tape is moving slowly, replace the batteries with new ones. For best
results we recommend the use of new alkaline or lithium cells. Recording time with new alkaline batteries
is approximately seven hours. Life of the batteries differs depending on the use. Remove the batteries when
the equipment is not in use for a long period. Dispose of exhausted batteries properly.

Loading the Microcassette

Confirm that the unit is in STOP mode.
Press the STOP/EJECT button to open the cassette compartment cover.
Insert a microcassette with the tape surface up.
Gently press the cassette compartment cover closed
If the cassette compartment cover can not be fully closed, remove the tape and adjust it's sprocket
alignment (by inserting a pen into the hub of the microcassette's take-up spool and turn slightly). Then
retry inserting the microcassette.
Before inserting the microcassette tape, make sure that the tape is not loose. When the tape is loose, it
can sometimes become cut or wound around the capstan.
