    With a Web-based (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator) utility, it is easy to configure and manage the TL-WR1042ND 300Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router. The Web-based utility can be used on any Windows, Macintosh or UNIX OS with a Web browser.

    TL-WR1042ND 300Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router This section will guide you to add a new wireless device to an existing network quickly by WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) function. Choose menu “WPS”, and you will see the next screen (shown in Figure 4-2 ).

MTU Size - The normal MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) value for most Ethernet networks is 1500 Bytes. It is not recommended that you change the default MTU Size unless required by your ISP.

    TL-WR1042ND 300Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router Connect Automatically - Connect automatically after the router is disconnected. To use this option, click the radio button. Connect Manually - You can configure the router to make it connect or disconnect manually. After a specified period of inactivity (Max Idle Time), the router will disconnect from your Internet connection, and you will not be able to re-establish your connection automatically as soon as you attempt to access the Internet again.

Enter the amount of time in minutes and the user will be "leased" this dynamic IP Address. After the time is up, the user will be automatically assigned a new dynamic IP address.

The format for the MAC Address is XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX (X is any hexadecimal digit). Only the PCs with MAC address listed can use the password to browse the built-in web pages to perform Administrator tasks while all the others will be blocked.
