4WD with Active Traction Control
(A-TRAC)
The only thing better than the confidence of
4WD is 4WD with Active Traction Control
(A-TRAC) and a Torsen
locking center
®[1]
differential. By interpreting data from the ABS
wheel-speed sensors, A-TRAC can tell if a
drive wheel is turning faster than a non-drive
wheel, which indicates loss of traction. The
system can then automatically reduce engine
power until the wheel that is slipping slows
and regains traction. If reducing engine power
isn't enough, the braking system will gradually
slow that wheel through pulsed brake action.
5-Speed Crawl Control (CRAWL)
[2]
Engineered to operate in tandem with Crawl Control
(CRAWL), Off-road Turn Assist (OTA) helps improve
off-road drivability. In a tight corner with CRAWL and
OTA engaged, OTA applies the brake to the inside
rear wheel, helping to create a tighter turning radius.
Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS)
Many traditional suspension systems perform well on the highway, but fall short when it comes
to off-road performance. KDSS automatically optimizes suspension performance both on and
off the pavement. On the road, it helps suppress body roll to enhance cornering performance.
Off-road, it relaxes sway control on rough terrain for increased wheel articulation. This helps
tires maintain contact with the ground on uneven terrain and minimizes body tilt.
