Coffee grounds could be coming out of the bottom of the Mr. Coffee BVMC-BMH23 due to internal leakage, possibly from a loose or damaged seal. Grounds may be escaping into the housing and exiting through the holes near the cord winding area. This could indicate a worn or broken internal component or a misalignment that allows grounds to bypass the collection container.

My BVMC-BMH23 is about 5 years old, works fine EXCEPT I've found many grounds are going in the base and not in the grounds hopper. What can I do about this?

To prevent coffee grounds from going into the base of your Mr. Coffee BVMC-BMH23, check for cracks in the grind chamber that may be allowing grounds to escape. If you find cracks, you may need to replace the chamber. Also, ensure all parts, including the hopper and lids, are properly assembled and sealed. Regular cleaning can help prevent buildup that might lead to leaks.
