With this modem you can easily:
Access the internet
Send or receive text messages
Manage contacts
The E220 package box contains the following items:
One E220 HSDPA USB Modem (including a PDF User Manual and a setup program)
Two USB cables (you only need to use the double-ended cable if a single one of your USB ports
does not supply enough power)
A Quickstart guide
To use the modem your PC is required to have:
CPU: Pentium 4, 1 Ghz or above
Memory: 128 MB RAM or above
Hard disk: 50MB or above
Operating system: Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows Vista
USB modem interface: USB 2.0 full speed
Display resolution: 800x600 or above, 1024x768 is recommended
Note: Make sure that the configuration of your PC meets the requirements. Otherwise, improper
configuration may degrade the performance of your PC.

Getting started

To prepare the modem for use take out the SIM card slot from the side of the modem. Then insert the
SIM card into the slot. Make sure that the SIM card if fully inserted and then insert the slot back into the
modem.
The installation procedures may vary slightly with the operating system. The following uses the Windows
XP operating system as an example.

  • Page 2 Note: Before connecting E220 to the PC, power on the PC. Otherwise, the installation may be affected. Use the USB cable to connect the modem to the PC by plugging one end into the USB interface of the modem and the other end into the USB port of your PC or laptop.
  • Page 4 Once you have completed the installation, the shortcut icon for Mobile Connect will appear on your desktop. If you wish to disconnect the modem exit the Mobile Connect program, then stop it through the hardware removing function of windows. If you wish to uninstall the modem use the Add or Remove Programs function in the Windows Control Panel. To launch Mobile Connect connect the modem to the computer for auto launch or double click on the Mobile Connect icon.

Once you have checked that under Network Connection Settings the Gibtelecom profile is selected then click to establish the connection.
