Problem

Possible Causes
Oven thermostat
needs adjustment.
Plug on range is
not completely
inserted in the
electrical outlet.
A fuse in your home
may be blown or the
circuit breaker tripped.
Oven controls
improperly set.
The oven temperature
is too high to set a
self-clean operation.
Oven controls
improperly set.
Oven door is not in
the locked position.
Oven door locked
during cooking.
This is the sound of
the metal heating and
cooling during both
the cooking and
cleaning functions.
What To Do
See the Adjust the oven
thermostat—Do it yourself!
section.
Make sure electrical plug is
plugged into a live, properly
grounded outlet.
Replace fuse or reset
circuit breaker.
See the Using the clock
and timer section.
Allow the range to cool to
room temperature and
reset the controls.
Make sure you turn the
control knob all the way
to the CLEAN position.
Make sure you move the
door latch handle all the
way to the right.
Turn the Oven
Temperature knob to OFF .
Allow the oven to cool.
Never force the door
latch handle.
This is normal.
