Possible Causes
Light bulb is loose or defective. • Tighten or replace the bulb.
Switch operating
light is broken.
Plug on range is not
completely inserted in
the electrical outlet.
A fuse in your home may
be blown or the circuit
breaker tripped.
Oven controls improperly set.
Door left in the
locked position.
Oven controls improperly set.
Shelf position is incorrect or
the shelf is not level.
Incorrect cookware or
cookware of improper
size being used.
Oven thermostat needs
adjustment.
Oven controls improperly set.
Door not open to the
broil stop position as
recommended.
Improper shelf position
being used.
Cookware not suited
for broiling.
Aluminum foil used on the
broiling pan and grid has
not been fitted properly and
slit as recommended.
In some areas the power

What To Do
• Call for service.
• Make sure electrical plug is plugged into a live, properly
grounded outlet.
• Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.

• If necessary, allow the oven to cool then unlock
the door.
