    CD-ROM drive Hardware Installation Please keep these directions in a safe place. Plug the GE Laser Mouse into an available USB port on your computer or GE USB hub. It is not necessary to reboot your computer. If prompted, insert your Windows disk and follow the on screen instructions.

  • Page 10: Using The Office® Button

    The following instructions will help you use the features this button offers. Press the Office button on top of your GE Laser Mouse next to the scroll wheel at any time to get to the menu shown below.
  • Page 11 When you are in Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, pressing the Office button will give you a new set of functions specific to that program. For instance, if you press the Office button while in Word, you will see the menu shown below. You can save files, copy, paste, print, and more with the click of a button.
  • Page 12 Reprogramming the Office button is easy. It is easy to reprogram the application specific menus. Simply click on the icon on that you want to replace on the left side of the screen and then select the new function from the drop down menu on the right.
  • Page 13 Additional reprogramming: If you would like to add a function that is not currently listed in the drop down menu shown in step 3, click the “Add” button under Function Options. This will take you to the menu shown below. First, assign a name to the function you wish to add.

    Open the Start Menu by clicking on Start in lower left corner of the screen. Click on Programs or All Programs. Click on GE/Laser mouse/Uninstall GE Laser Mouse Software. If you cannot locate this here, go on to Method 2. Click on Uninstall GE Laser Mouse Software.
  • Page 15 Method 2 Right-click on the mouse icon in the system tray (lower right corner of the screen) and click Exit. Close all open applications. Open the Start Menu by clicking on Start in lower left corner of the screen. Open the Control Panel (sometimes located under Settings).

    If this works, contact your laptop dealer. • Other application software will not install properly This may be due to the GE Laser Mouse Software. Remove the software as described in the previous section. Install the other application. Reinstall the GE Laser Mouse Software.
