User M Getting to know your Elonex eBook reader Inputs and Outputs 1. Power Button To turn the device on and off. To power ON press for one second and let the eBook load. To power OFF press and hold the button for two seconds.

Elonex power adapter otherwise you may cause damage to your eBook. When no USB / Power Cable is attached to the eBook, Elonex recommends that you put the Port Cover back in place, ensuring the USB plug fits inside the USB port, as this will prevent any material entering the eBook.

User M Using your eBook Your library When you turn your eBook on (by pressing the Power Button), please wait a few moments to allow the eBook to boot up. The main menu screen (library) displays a list of the eBooks you have stored on the eBook (or expansion card if you have one).

Cursor Use the arrow keys and select button to move the cursor and navigate through your library. To start reading an eBook, select the one you wish to read and press the Select Button. In vertical mode, press up/down to select, left/right to turn page.

Preparing your PC and eBook The process of downloading, managing and transferring eBooks is a simple 3 step process. The first time you set-up your eBook you must complete a few procedures to prepare your computer. Setup 1: Install Adobe Digital Editions Adobe Digital Editions is the industry standard software for downloading and managing your eBook collection.

Setup 2: Getting an Adobe ID In order to use Digital Editions you must create an Adobe ID which allows you to protect your eBook investments. This is also free and only takes a second. • When Digital Editions opens for the first time Setup Assistance will ask you to enter your Adobe ID credentials.

Digital Editions and My Documents and you will not have to complete this step. Elonex recommends that you use Digital Editions to manage your eBooks. Digital Editions is the only way to use DRM* protected eBooks on your eBook.

Using your eBook interface Sorting your Library As with your bookshelf at home it is important to keep your books in order. The eBook has a handy way of sorting your eBooks, either by date, by file name, by category or by file size. You can also arrange them in ascending or descending order.

User M Your library View You can change the appearance of your library by changing the View. • From your library press the “Menu Button and the LIBRARY SETTING pop-up will appear. • In the LIBRARY SETTING window select “VIEW” and press the select button In the VIEW window, select a view style you wish, and then press ENTER to confirm.

Reading eBooks eBook uses innovative e-Ink® technology in the screen which is as thick as a credit card. Each page is electronically printed on the screen. It is non-flicker and non-glare so reading is gentle on the eye, even in direct sunlight! Getting started The basic operation of the eBook couldn’t be simpler.
User M E Reading Menu When reading an eBook, press the MENU BUTTON to open the E Reading popup. This menu has many functions and pressing the Select Button will open further pop-up menu’s containing various options. Items Information Bookmark To add or remove a bookmark, and jump to the bookmarks you’ve previously placed.
Adding a Bookmark Adding a bookmark is just like putting a bookmark, dog ear or train ticket into your book to remember your page. Once you have opened an eBook press the Menu Button on the left side of the device to reach the E Reading popup menu.

Screen Status Option Status Option allows you to change the display properties of the screen. Once you have opened an eBook press the Menu Button on the left side of the device to reach the E Reading pop-up menu. Press Status Options to open the pop-up menu.
User M Font Family Font Family is a function that allows you to change the font type and size displayed on the screen. Once you have opened an eBook press the Menu Button on the left side of the device to reach the E Reading popup menu. Press the Font Family option to open the popup menu.

Properties This is a function that lets you view the properties of the eBook. Please note that the information displayed depends on the information embedded in the eBook file so not all the properties will show up on all eBooks. How to play Sudoku Press the Multimedia Button on the left side of the device to enter the SUDOKU game page. • The NEW GAME window pops out automatically. • Choose a difficulty level Easy, Normal or Hard if you’re up for a real challenge! A new set of numbers will fill the Sudoku Grid.
