    1. NAS Starter Utility 1.1 NAS Starter Utility Installation After you install a new hard drive on the NSA310S, please make sure to use the NAS Starter Utility to discover and access the NSA310S to assign an IP address by the DHCP server or a static option. The steps are as below.

    NSA310S. 1.4 zPilot Click zPilot to launch zPilot. When you would like to upload files to NSA310S, just drag the files onto the zPilot icon. The files will be automatically uploaded and sorted based on their types: Music, Photos and Videos. The files which are not categorized in Music, Photos or Videos will be uploaded to the Public folder.

    3. Package Management Package management is used to set up more useful applications in the NSA310S. This feature enables users to use the following applications: BackupPlanner, DyDNS, Gallery, NFS, PHP-MySQL-phpMyAdmin, SMART, SqueezeCenter, Wordpress and eMule. Click System Setting > Firmware/Packages to display the screen. Then the applications are will be listed as shown below.

    3.1 Gallery Gallery is a web-based application that allows the NSA310S to host photos. You can upload photos from the local computers or stored in the NSA310S. Use the administrator account of the NSA310S to login to the Gallery GUI.

     Configure the Dropbox account information.  Link your NSA310S with your Dropbox account. On the NSU main page, login to the Dropbox service for NSA310S, go to Applications > Dropbox. Then, enable the Dropbox service. Figure 55 NSU main menu.

  • Page 25 The NSA connects to Dropbox and copies files in the Drop2NAS folder to the NSA’s admin\Dropbox\FromDropbox folder, and then empties the Drop2NAS folder. The NSA initiates connections to the Dropbox server so you do not need to configure rules on a firewall in front of the NSA to allow access to the NSA. When your PC has installed Dropbox, you can upload files to the Drop2NAS folder, and then NSA will get files from the Dropbox server.

    5. Smartphone APP Use ZyXEL’s zMedia app to play files and manage the NSA from iOS version 3 or later device or Android version 2.1 or later smartphone. Install ZyXEL’s zMedia app from the Apple App Store, Android Market, or www.zyxel.com to play files and manage the NSA from your iOS device or Android smartphone.

To use Wake On LAN from a computer on your LAN, install a program such as Wake On LAN EX or other Wake On LAN programs that supports sending magic packets.
