To disengage the clutch on a Riccar 3400 sewing machine for bobbin winding, follow these steps:
1. Locate the Handwheel: Find the handwheel on the right side of the machine. 2. Loosen the Clutch Knob: In the center of the handwheel, there is a smaller knob (clutch release knob). Turn this knob counterclockwise to disengage the clutch. 3. Wind the Bobbin: Place the empty bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle and follow the machine’s threading path for bobbin winding. 4. Engage the Bobbin Winder: Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right or follow the specific instructions for your model. 5. Start Winding: Press the foot pedal or start the machine to wind the bobbin. The needle should not move since the clutch is disengaged. 6. Re-engage the Clutch: Once the bobbin is full, push the bobbin winder back to its original position and retighten the clutch knob by turning it clockwise.
This process allows the machine to wind the bobbin without moving the needle.
