For simplicity, the EX7000 series assemblies, including the EX71HD, EX72SF, and EX7400 will be referred to as EX7000 in this section.     PERATION NTRODUCTION The EX7000 Series modular microwave switch assemblies require only ac power and a LAN connection to a PC or network. The PC must have an Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox, installed. The imbedded web page in each EX7000 allows easy access and control of the internal microwave components.

Prior to initiating the firmware upgrade process, a new, uncompressed firmware image must be obtained from VXI Technology and be accessible from the computer that is connected to the EX7000. Unless specifically noted by VXI Technology, firmware upgrades do not alter the non-volatile configuration settings (network configuration, time configuration) of the EX7000.
