(Advanced Graphical Enterprise Network Tool) is software that provides a graphical interface for configuration, user, security, and administration management of Viewpoint matrix switches. Using Agent, you have control at the server level over Viewpoint configurations and security. You can use Agent to organize and synchronize server control both in-band and out-of-band configurations.

Security Management With Agent you can manage system security as follows: Support on-demand login validation using the user accounts set up in User Management. Download a server access list (OSCAR information) to each switch as the final step of on-demand login validation.
Connect Agent directly into the front of your Viewpoint matrix switch. Define the installation configuration by telling Agent what is attached to the core. If this is the first time you are installing Agent, you will enter tiered device configuration and server names in the Edit Known Servers.

Agent Installer/User Guide Configuring the Servers and Devices Once you have installed Agent, you will need to launch and configure the software to reflect your current system. Agent configuration is divided into two nodes: Pending – Allows you to assign tiered device configuration and server names so that Agent will know what is attached to the core.

OK. A status bar will appear as Agent receives the current configuration from the core. If this is the first time you are running Agent, you will receive a list of default unassigned port numbers. If you have already configured the core in the past, you will receive the current configuration that is active in the core.

Configuring User Accounts The Agent security manager assigns access rights using a “least restrictive” method. If user A belongs to two server groups, one giving him View Only access to Server B and the other giving him Preemptive access to Server B, then he will get Preemptive access to Server B.

Security You have the option of running with Security Mode enabled or disabled. When security mode is disabled, all users will have access to all systems.

This causes ERASE FLASH UPGRADE the device to automatically start re-upgrading itself to the latest code in the Viewpoint core.
