Chapter 2 Installation 2.1 Hardware Installation To install the UPS in a 19-inch standard rack, please follows the instructions described below. Step1: Place the switch on a hard flat surface, with the front panel positioned towards the front side. Step2: Attach the rack-mount bracket to each side of the UPS with supplied screws attached to the package.
1. Connect the UPS to the 100~240V AC power outlet to get power. 2. Click on the ON/OFF button on the front panel for over 5 seconds to power on the UPS-400. The system is started up by a "beep" buss. The "AC input" and the "DC output" LED then lighted up.

[NOTE] When the Managed Power Supply unit AC power is down, the internal UPS can provide the power to connected POE switch for 30 seconds in full power consumption and 30 minutes in only switch basic operation.
