SAFETY WARNING FOR ELECTRIC HEAD
Refer to trimmer instructions for full starting and mainte-
nance instructions.
1.
WARNING : To reduce the risk of electrical shock,
use only extension cords approved for outdoor use.
2.
CORD SETS : Make sure your cord set is in good
condition. When using a cord set, be sure to use a
cord that is heavy enough to carry the current that
your unit will draw. An undersized cord set will cause
a drop in line voltage resulting in a loss of power and
overheating.
3.
Ensure that the hover mower is attached to an elec-
tric trimmer that is connected to a Residual Current
Device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than
30mA is in the circuit.
4.
If an extension cord is used make sure that it is for
outdoor use and marked as such. The recommended
size of the extension cord is not lighter than 1.5mm
and a maximum of 10 metres in length.
5.
When connected to an electric trimmer, before use
check the supply and extension cord for signs of
damage or ageing. If the cord becomes damaged
during use, disconnect the cord from the supply
immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE
DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY.
6.
When connected to an electric trimmer, do not use
the appliance if the cord is damaged or worn.
7.
Ensure that the extension cable is completely
uncoiled before use to prevent overheating and loss
of efficiency.
8.
Inspect all extension cords and the unit power conec-
tion periodically. Look closely for deterioration, cuts
or cracks in the insulation. Also inspect the connec-
tions for damage. Replace the cords if any defects or
damage appears.
9.
Do not use the unit in the rain.
10. Do not handle the plug or unit with wet hands or while
standing on any wet surfaces.
11. Do not leave the unit plugged in when not in use,
changing attachments or add-ons, or while being
serviced.
12. Always disconnect from the mains when leaving it
unattended.
13. Switch off the motor and pull out the plug when the
machine is not being used, being cleaned, being
moved from one place to another or when the blades
are being changed or adjusted.
14. If there is an interruption to the power supply or the
extension cord is damaged, switch off the machine
immediately and remove the plug from the power
mains.
15. If the power cord is damaged, only have it repaired by
an Autorised Talon Service Agent.
16. Do not move the machine by pulling on the electrical
cable.
17. Never use an electrically powered unit in the rain or
when the grass is wet.
18. When mowing, keep the power cable away from the
mower. Your direction of work should be away from
the power point.
19. After use, disconnect the machine from the power
supply and check for damage. If you have the slight-
est doubts, check with an Authorised Talon Service
Agent.
