INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTIFICATION APPLIANCE CIRCUIT INTERFACE MODULE
(NACIM)
Use this product according to this instruction manual. Please keep this instruction manual for future reference.

GENERAL:

The Notification Appliance Circuit Interface Module (NACIM) is used to convert the Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) of the
Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) to an open collector circuit to operate the inputs of the Single Circuit SAFEPATH, the Digital
Voice (DV) Digital Voice Expansion Module (DV-EM) and multi circuit SAFEPATH units. Figure 1 shows a NACIM wired in a
Single Circuit SAFEPATH application. Figure 2 shows a NACIM wired in a DV or multi circuit SAFEPATH application with a
single NAC.
Figure 3 shows multiple NACIM's in a DV or multi circuit SAFEPATH application with multiple NAC's. (The
NACIM can be connected to either a 12 Volt or a 24 Volt NAC. An End of Line Resistor (EOLR) that is listed for use with the
FACP, must be installed across the two terminals of the TB2 on the NACIM.)
NOTE: All CAUTIONS and WARNINGS are identified by the symbol
. All Warnings are printed in bold capital letters.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS:

In single circuit SAFEPATH, use the 3 fasteners in the top of the enclosure to secure the PC board.
WARNING: QUALIFIED PERSONNEL MUST TEST THE SAFEPATH PANEL AFTER THE LINE LEVEL INPUT
MODULE HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND BEFORE THE SAFEPATH PANEL IS PLACED IN SERVICE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SAFEPATH OPERATION AND INSTALLATION MANUAL.
FAILURE TO TEST THE SAFEPATH PANEL OR CORRECT ANY TROUBLE CONDITION BEFORE THE SAFEPATH
PANEL IS PLACED IN SERVICE COULD RESULT IN A MESSAGE NOT BEING PLAYED WHEN AND WHERE
REQUIRED IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. THIS COULD RESULT IN PROPERTY DAMAGE AND SERIOUS
INJURY OR DEATH TO YOU AND/OR OTHERS.
