CONNECTIONS FOR YOUR TV
STEREO VCR CONNECTION TO TV
If you have a stereo VCR, you must make the A/V connections shown in order to hear stereo sound while playing a stereo tape.

If you wish to listen to the TV audio through an external amplifier or stereo system, or listen to surround sound audio, make the connec-
tions to the TV shown in the illustration below. (The Variable Audio Output jacks must not be connected directly to speakers.)

Single Surround Speaker Connection
DIFFERENT WAYS TO LISTEN TO YOUR TV
TV Speakers On
• SPEAKER EXT/INT switch in the INT (in-
ternal) position --
TV speakers are ON. Sound is heard from
both the TV's speakers and the external am-
plifier's speakers.
• Use TV's volume control to raise and
lower the level of sound being heard from
both sets of speakers.
TV Speakers Off
• SPEAKER EXT/INT switch in the EXT
(external) position --
TV speakers are OFF. Sound is only heard
from the speakers connected to the external
amplifier.
• Use TV's volume control to raise and
lower the level of sound being heard from
the amplifier's speakers.
Surround Sound
• Connect surround sound speakers as shown.
The level of surround sound will vary,
depending on the program being viewed.
Note that not all programs have surround
sound audio.
• The SURROUND SPKR terminals are
always active. The SPEAKERS EXT/INT
switch does not affect the operation of
surround sound speakers.
