SLT-A58K
Sony® α SLT-A58 Digital SLR
Key Features
20.1 MP Exmor® HD APS sensor with 5 FPS continuous shooting
Every scene is captured beautifully, from corner to corner, with fine details and
rich tonal gradations thanks to Sony's proprietary Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor.
Its large size delivers high sensitivity, attractive defocusing effects, and low noise
in wide-ranging shooting situations including dimly lit environments. Impressive
20.1-effective-megapixel resolution also brings every detail to life.
Translucent Mirror Technology™ accelerates AF performance
Sony's Translucent Mirror Technology™ simultaneously directs light to the image
sensor and AF sensor on a continuous basis to realize full-time live view shooting
and accelerated full-time continuous phase-detection autofocusing even
during HD movie shooting. It's the cornerstone of Sony interchangeable-lens
camera technology.
1080/60i/24p Full AVCHD™ or 1080/30p MP4 movies

Create movies of amazing clarity at Full HD resolution with full-time continuous
phase-detection AF, the same swift, accurate focusing used during still
photography. Movies can be recorded at 60i for super smooth playback or 24p
for a rich cinematic look. You can also use P/A/S/M exposure modes to expand
your movie making creativity.

Lock-on AF for even easier focusing of moving subjects
Now it's easier than ever to keep moving subjects in focus. Using Sony
Translucent Mirror Technology and subject size detection, the new Lock-on AF
continuously adjusts target frame size based on various subject characteristics
and dramatically increases the in-focus rate. Even if your subject's face cannot
be detected, it ensures smooth, stable focusing using the optimal AF point —
without having to search.
High Contrast SVGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF
The OLED viewfinder makes it easy to shoot stills and movies in almost any
lighting condition and allows for live-view shooting thanks to Translucent Mirror
Technology™. The ultra-sharp, bright 1.44 million dot display provides 100% field-
of-view frame coverage that is perfect for accurately monitoring results as you
shoot.
Up to ISO 16000 sensitivity with advanced noise reduction
With a new Exmor™ sensor that features the same adaptive noise reduction
technology from Sony's flagship SLT-A99V, the SLT-A58 easily offers a wide range
of sensitivity from ISO 100 to ISO 16000. Even in dim lighting, you can shoot
beautiful photos with natural tonal gradations and low noise — without using a
flash. Auto ISO provides outstanding results in most lighting situations and you
can select settings manually to suit particular occasions. Excellent low-light
performance is made possible by cutting-edge features like the same area-
specific noise reduction as found on the α99.
