mannfactnrers. Thislets you use the cards in differentcameras. If._xm use a
card reader to retrieve._x3ur fles, the followingdescription of the card file
structure maybe helpfifl.
MISCfolder---comains the order files created whenyou use the Share
featureto tag files f)r printing,emailing,and as favorites.
SYSTEM folder--used for updating camera firmware.
DCIMtimider--root levd folder,contains the 100K443foldm:Each timeyou
turn on the camera or insert a differentcard, any emptyfdders withinthe
I)ClMfMer are removed.
100K443 subfolderIinitially
contains all pictnms and qdeos on the card.
Card File Naming
Conventions
Q) Pictures are named 100 nnnn.JP(;,and are numbered in the oMer in
whichtheyare taken. Thefirst pictureis muned 1000001 .JPG; t he highest
number allnwedis 100 9999.JP6.
Q) Whena card contains a picture n;uned 100 9999.JPGin the
_DClM\100K443 f older, subsequent pictures appear in a newfolder
(\l)ClM\l01K443),beginningwith pictnre 101000 l.JPG.
Q) Evenif ._mtr_msferpictures to the computeror delete pictures from the
camera, the camera continues to use consecutivemnnbers f)r all
subsequent pictures.For example, if the la.stpicture taken was
100 0007.JP6 and you ddete it, the next pictureyou take is nmned
100 0008.JP(;.
Q) Whenyou insert a differentcard intoyour camera, the next picture number
is defined by incrementingthe higher of the last picture _ken by the
cmnem, or the hi,lest existingpicturenumber in the folder.
