Choose this mode for complete control
of shooting settings, including exposure
compensation (pg. 61) and white balance (pg.
62).
SCENE RECOGNITION
Simply by pointing the camera to the subject,
the camera automatically analyzes and selects
the most appropriate setting using scene
recognition.
The camera analyzes a
subject based on scene
recognition, then an icon
appears in the bottom
left of the monitor (The
illustration shows when the
camera analyzed subject(s)in portrait.).

For soft-toned portraits with

natural skirl tones.
For crisp, clear daylight shots of

buildings and landscapes.

For a subject backlit against the
sun, preventing the background
from becoming dim.
For a subject in a dim place,
reducing blur.
Tip
When a subject carl not be analyzed by the camera,
@AUTO mode will be set.

• E e_Intelligent FaceDetection is turned on
automatically.
• Tile camera continuously adjusts focus on a face,or
tile center area of the monitor.
• Continuous auto focus will be audible and will
increasebattery drain.
• Macro mode is set when @ is set.
