Before starting the freezer, follow these important first steps: FirstSteps installation 3" • Choose a place that is neara grounded electrical outlet. • Forthe most efficient operation, the freezershould be located where surround- ing temperatures will not exceed 110°F (43°C). Temperatures of 32°F (0°C) and below will NOTaffect freezer operation. -

Setting the Cool Down Period • For safe food storage, allow four (4) hours for freezer to cool down completely. Temperature Control freezer will run continuously for the first several hours. Foods that are already frozen may be placed in the freezer after the first few hours of operation. -

Some upright freezers are frost-free and defrost automatically, but should be Care and Cleaning cleaned occasionally. Before cleaning or defrosting, unplug the powercord from the electrical outlet. Damp objects stick to Between Defrostings cold metal surfaces. Do not touch interior To avoid frequent defrosting, occasionally use a plastic scraper to remove frost. -

Care and Cleaning Cleaning the inside After defrosting, wash inside surfaces of the freezer with a solution of two (continued) tablespoons of baking soda in one quart (1.136 litres) warm water. Rinse and dry. Wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth when cleaning in the area of the controls, or any electrical parts. -
