Arcing is the microwave
term tbr sparks in tlte
oven. Arcing is caused by:
•Tlte metal sltelf (if
included) not installed
correctly so it toucltes tlte
microwave wall.
Tlte temperature probe

inserted in tlte tood.
• Metal or fi)il touclting

• Foil not molded to fitod
(upturned edges act like
antenmts).
• Metal, such as twist-ties,
poultry pins or gold-
rimmed disltes, in tlte

• Recycled paper towels
containing small metal
pieces being used in tlte
II/ic rowave,
Do not pop popcorn in
your microwave oven
unless in a special
microwave popcorn
accessory or unless you
