    _ging the Battery The battery is not charged at shipment. Charge the battery before use. 1 Place the battery in the supplied battery charger. Insert the battery in the orientation indicated by the _ Q_L)Q+_ labels. Tile camera uses an NP-50 recharge- able battery.

    _lnsertinq the Battery and a Memory Card Although the camera can store pictures in internal memory, optional SDHC, and SDXC memory cards (sold separately) can be used to store addi- tional pictures. After charging the battery, insert the battery and memory card as described below.

Shaking or unsteady hands carl blur your shots. To prevent pictures that are out of focus or too dark (under- exposed), keep your fingers and other objects away from tile lens and flash.

Flash output and sensitivity are adjusted to ensure that the main subject is correctly exposed while preserving the effects of ambient background lighting, even in dimly-lit indoor scenes.
