Theblade controlisattachedto the upper handleof the mower.
Depressand squeezeit againstthe upper handleto operatethe unit.
Releaseit to stop engineand blade.
The primeris usedto pumpgas intothe carburetorand aid in starting
the engine.Use it to starta cold engine,but do not use it to restarta
warm engineaftera short shutdown.
This bladecontrolis a safetydevice.Neverattemptto bypassits
operations.
GAS CAP
Removethe gascap to add fuel to the fueltank. Useclean, fresh,
regularunleadedgasolinewith a minimumof 87 octane.
CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT LEVERS
One adjustmentleveris locatedon eachwheeland is used toadjust
the cuttingheight.All four levershaveto be at the same positionto
ensurea uniformcut.
MULCHING BAFFLE
Themulchingbaffle is usedto recirculategrass clippingsbackto the
lawn.Attachit as instructedin the Assemblysectionof this manual.
RECOIL STARTER
The recoilstarteris attachedto the rightupper handle.Standbehind
the unitand pull the recoilstarter ropeto start the unit.
OIL FILL CAP/DIPSTICK
Referto the Maintenance sectionfor instructionson checkingthe oil.
SPARK PLUG
Referto the Maintenance sectionfor instructionson spark plug
replacement.
TRAIL SHIELD
The trail shieldis attachedto the rear of the mowerand isthere to
protectthe operatorfrom flying debris.Do not usethe mowerunless
the shieldis fully functionaland in place.
