Immediately prepare your lawn mower for storage at the
end of the season or if the unit will not be used for 30 day s
or more,
LAWN MOWER
When lawn mower ts to be stored to ra perlod of ttme, clean
it thoroughly, remove al! dirt. grease, leaves, etc Store in
a clean, dry area
• Clean entire lawn mower (See "CLEANING" in the
Customer Responslbllities section_ of this manual),
o Lubricate as shown in the Customer Responsibilities
sectlon'of this manual,
. Be sure that all nuts, bolts, screws,' and pins are
securely fastened. Inspecl moving paMs ferdamage,
breakage and wear Rep ace t necessary
• Touch up all rusted or chipped paint s'urfaces; sand
lightly before palntlng
HANDLE (See Fig, '17 & 18)
" YOU can fol d your lawn mower handle for storage
. Loosen the two (2) Iiandle knobs on Sides st the upper
handle and atfbw handle to fold down to the rear.
• Squeeze the bottom ends of lower handle toward each
other until pins tn handle clear the brackets and ptvot
entire handle assembly forward and allow it to resl on
mower
• Whensettlng upyour handle fromthe storage positton
the lower handle will require rqanuafty locking Into the
mowing position.
IMPORTANT: WHEN FOLDING THE HAN'DLE FOR
STORAGE OR TRANSPORTATION, BE SURE TO FOLD
THE HANDLE AS SHOWN OR YOU MAY DAMAGE THE
CONTROL CABLES.

FUEL SYSTEM
iMPORTANT: IT IS IMPORTANT TO PREVENT GtJM
DEPOSITS FROM. FORMING IN ESSENTIAL FUEL
SYSTEM FARTS SUCH AS CARBU RETOR, FUEL FILTER
FUEL', HOSE, OR TANK DUB NG STORAGE. ALSO,
EXPERIENCE INDICATES THAT ALCOHOL BLENDED
FUELS (CALLED GASOHOL OR USING ETHANOL OR
METHANOL) CAN ATTRACT MOISTURE WHICH LEADS
TO SEPARATION AND FORMATION OF ACIDS DURING
STORAGE, ACIDIC GAS CAN DAMAGE, THE FUEL
SYSTEM OF AN ENGINE WHILE IN STORAGE
• Drainthe fueltank,
,_ Start the engine and iet It run until the fue! lines and
carburetor are empty.
• Never use engtne or carburetor cieaner products in the
fuel tsdk or permanent damage may occur,
• , Use fresh fuel next season_
NOllE: Fuel stabilizer is an acceptable a.llemative In
minimizing _he formation pf:_ue gum dopes ts dudng stor-
age. Add stabilizer to gasoline in fuel tank or storage
container, Always follow the mix ratio round on stabilizer
container, RUn engine at least 10 mlntJles alter adding
stabilizer to allow the stabilizer Is reach lhe carburetor. Do
not drain the gas tank and carburetor If using fuel stab!lizer,
ENGINE OIL :
Drain oiJ(with engine warm) and replace with clean engine
o1[ (See "ENGINE" in the Customer Responsiblli!ies
section of this manual)
CYLINDER
• Remove spark plug+
• Pour one cup,co (29 ml) of Oil through spark plug hole
