USING THE DOUBLE BOILER
Your VillaWare
electric kettle includes a special feature, which allows you to prepare
®
delicate sauces, melt chocolate or butter, and perform other similar tasks. In order to use
this feature, please follow the instructions below:
1.
Position the power base on a flat, heat-resistant surface, as
close as possible to a power outlet.
2.
Pull the cord out of the storage compartment on the base
adjusting it to the needed/desired length (Figure 3).
3.
When filling the kettle with water, make sure the bottom of the
boiler accessory becomes submerged in water. The maximum
water level when using the double boiler is 1.5 litres.
4.
Remove the kettle lid by pressing the button located on the
bottom of the lid, near the hinge (Figure 4 & 5).
5.
Place the double boiler accessory at the top opening of the
kettle; ensuring it's securely placed (Figure 6).
6.
Open double boiler accessory lid and place sauce, chocolate,
butter or any other similar ingredient that you wish to prepare
or melt inside the double boiler. Do not exceed the "max" (500 mL)
marker and make sure contents are above the "min" (150 mL) marker.
7.
Close the double boiler lid.
8.
Adjust the temperature by turning the variable temperature dial
to select one of the following temperatures: 40°C, 60°C, 80°C,
90°C or 100°C (Boil) (Figure 7).
9.
Push the power button on "
cycle. The power light will illuminate.
10.
The LED knob light will blink while the unit is heating the water.
Once water has reached the selected temperature, the LED knob
light will remain solid.
11.
Once the water reaches the desired temperature, the unit will
beep 3 times reminding you to decide whether to select the
keep warm function or let it automatically shut off. After the 3 beeps, you will have
approximately 5 seconds to make your selection.
12.
If you wish to select the keep warm function, your VillaWare
the selected temperature for up to 30 minutes after the heating process has finished.
The amber light ring will stay illuminated while the keep warm function is active. You can
repeat this selection for an additional 30 minutes at the end of every 30-minute period.
The kettle will not re-boil until the on/off button "
allowing kettle to cool down, and then press the on/off button.
Ensure the lid is firmly closed. The electric kettle will not turn off automatically if

if the kettle does boil dry

If the kettle is operated in accordance with instructions for use, it is unlikely that the kettle
will boil dry. However, in the event that the kettle does boil dry, your VillaWare
kettle has a dry boil detect feature, which will automatically switch the kettle off until the
kettle is refilled with at least the minimum required amount of water. Always allow the kettle
to cool for half an hour before reuse if the kettle has boiled dry.
