The mower blade drive belt may be replaced without tools.
Park the tractor on level surface.
Engage parking brake,
BELT REMOVAL -
•
Remove
mower from tractor
(See =TO REMOVE
MOWER" in this section of this manual).
•
Work belt off both mandrel pulleys and idler pulleys.
•
Pull belt away from mower.
BELT INSTALLATION

lnstaIi new belt in reverse order of removal.
•
Make su re belt is in all pulley grooves and inside a!l belt
guides.

Instait mower in reverse order of removal instructions.

Park the tractor on tevel surface.
Engage parr,ring brake.
For assistance, there is a bett instatlation guide decal on
bottom side of Ieft footrest.

Remove mower (See "TO REMOVE MOWER" in this
section of this manual.)

Remove upper be{t keeper.
•
Remove beft from stationary idler and clutching idler.
*
Pull beit stack toward rear of tractor.
Remove belt
upwards from transaxte pulley by deflecting belt keep-
ers.
.
Pull belt toward front of tractor and remove downwards
from around engine puIley.

Install new belt by reversing above procedure.

Your tractor is equipped with an adjustable brake system
which is mounted on the right side of the transaxte.
if tractor requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance
at high speed in highest gear, then brake must be adjusted.

Depress clutch/brake pedal and engage parking brake.
-
Measure distance between brake operating arm and
nut "A" on brake rod.
-
If distance
is other than 1-1/2", disengage
parking
brake, loosen jam nut and turn r_ut "A" until distance
becomes 1-1/2". Retighten jam nut against nut "A_.
.
Engage parking brake and recheck distance.
•
Road test tractor for proper stopping distance as stated
ai_ove. Readjust if necessary,
if stopping distance is
still greater than six (6) feet in highest gear, further
maintenance
is necessary,
