TO SERVICE CARTRIDGE -

Install replacement oil fitter by turning clockwise untii
Remove knob and cover plate,
rubber gasket contacts mounting surface, then tighten
filter an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn.
Remove cartridge and clean by tapping gently on flat
surface.

Fill crankcase with new oil (See "TO CHANGE EN-
GINE OIL"),
For approximate

If very dirty, replace or wash in a nonsudsing detergent

on page 3 of this manual.

MUFFLER
Inspect and replace corroded muffler and spark arrestor (if
equipped) as it could create a fire hazard and/or damage.
SPARK PLUGS
Replace spark plugs at the beginning of each mowing
season or after every t00 hours of use, whichever comes
first. Spark plug type and gap setting is shown in "PROD-
UCT SPECIFICATIONS"
on page 3 of this manual.
ENGINE OIL FILTER (See Fig. 20)
Replace the engine oil filter every season or every other oi!
change if the tractor is used more than 100 hours in one
year.

Unscrew old filter by turning counterclockwise, Use a
suitable container to catch oil,
Apply a thin coating of new engine oitto rubber gasket
on replacement oil fitter,

Fuet filter should be replaced once each season, Iffuel filter
becomes clogged, obstructing fuel flow to carburetor, re_
placement is require&

With engine cool, remove filter and plug fuel line
sections.

Place new fuel filter in position in fuel line with arrow
pointing towards carburetor.
Be sure there are no fuel line leaks and clamps are
properly positioned,

Immediately wipe up any spilled gasoline.

CLEANING
Clean engine, battery, seat, finish, etc. of all foreign
matter.
Keep finished surfaces and wheels free of all gasoline,
oil, etc.
Protect painted surfaces with automotive type wax,
We do not recommend using a garden hose to clean your
unit unless the electrical
system, muffler, air filter and
carburetor are covered to keep water out. Water in engine
can result in a shortened engine life,
