If the driver's seat belt has not been fastened, when the ignition key is
turned to position II, the warning light E comes on.
Do not use any objects (spring clips, locks, etc.) that could keep a seat belt from
fitting properly.
Do not allow children to be held on a passenger's lap
using only one seat belt for both of them.
In the event of a crash the weight of the adult would crush the
child against the seat belt. This can result in serious injuries
for the child.

Unfastening the seat belts
• Push the release button F.
• Feed the fastening tang C back to its rest position.
Pretensioners
The pretensioner is activated in the event of a head-on collision of
sufficient force. The belt will rewind by a few centimetres just before
the restraining action begins, thereby ensuring a proper hold around
the occupant's body.
Activation of the pre-tensioner is indicated by the illumination of the
warning light G on the instrument panel and by the seat belt locking.
After activation, the pretensioner no longer functions
and it cannot be repaired under any circumstances.

When the pretensioner is activated, a small amount of smoke is
released. This smoke is not harmful and does not indicate the presence
of a fire.
