    1.5 Intel 925X Chipset The Intel 925X chipset consists of the following devices: • Intel 82925X Memory Controller Hub (MCH) with Direct Media Interface (DMI) interconnect • Intel 82801FR I/O Controller Hub (ICH6-R) with DMI interconnect • Firmware Hub (FWH) The MCH is a centralized controller for the system bus, the memory bus, the PCI Express bus, and the DMI interconnect.

The Parallel ATA IDE interface supports the following modes: • Programmed I/O (PIO): processor controls data transfer.

When the computer is not plugged into a wall socket, the battery has an estimated life of three years. When the computer is plugged in, the standby current from the power supply extends the life of the battery.

    Intel Desktop Board D925XHY Technical Product Specification 2.6 Interrupts The interrupts can be routed through either the Programmable Interrupt Controller (PIC) or the Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller (APIC) portion of the ICH6-R component. The PIC is supported in Windows 98 SE and Windows ME and uses the first 16 interrupts. The APIC is supported in Windows 2000 and Windows XP and supports a total of 24 interrupts.

    The boards are designed to provide 2 A (average) of +5 V current for each add-in board. The total +5 V current draw for add-in boards is as follows: a fully loaded Desktop Board D925XHY (all six expansion slots and the PCI Express x16 slot filled) must not exceed 14 A.

    Technical Reference 2.11.3 Fan Connector Current Capability CAUTION The processor fan must be connected to the processor fan connector, not to a chassis fan connector.
