  • How do I update the BIOS on my Asus P5G41T-M LX3 motherboard?

You can update the BIOS using two methods:

    • ASUS Update utility: This utility operates within the Windows® environment. First, install the ASUS Update utility from the support DVD by placing the DVD in the optical drive, clicking the Utilities tab, then selecting ASUS Update. Follow the onscreen instructions for installation. To update, launch the ASUS Update utility from the Windows® desktop (Start > Programs > ASUS > ASUSUpdate > ASUSUpdate). You can then select to Update BIOS from the Internet or Update BIOS from a file. If updating from the Internet, select the nearest ASUS FTP site or use Auto Select, then choose the BIOS version to download. If updating from a file, locate the BIOS file and click Open.
    • ASUS EZ Flash 2: This utility allows you to update the BIOS without using an OS-based utility. Before starting, download the latest BIOS file from the ASUS website and save it to a USB flash disk. Insert the USB flash disk into a USB port. You can launch EZ Flash 2 by pressing <Alt> + <F2> during POST or by entering the BIOS setup program, navigating to the Tools menu, and selecting EZ Flash 2. Press <Tab> to switch between drives until the correct BIOS file is found. Once the file is found, EZ Flash 2 will perform the update and automatically reboot the system.

IMPORTANT: Do not shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS to prevent system boot failure.
