Installing Macintosh OS X Printer Software
When the Start Here sheet instructs you to install your printer software, Follow these steps:

Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your Macintosh. Then start up your Macintosh in OS X.

When you see your Macintosh icons, put the EZCDPRINT CD-ROM in your CD-ROM or DVD drive.

Double-click the EZCDPRINT CD-ROM icon to open its window.

Double-click the folder for your printer model. (Make sure you have selected the correct printer model).
Double-click the EZCD Print 6500 Installer .

If you set up an administrator password when you installed OS X, you will see an authorization screen. Click the lock
icon, enter your administrator password, and click OK. You must enter this password to install your printer software.

At the next screen, click Continue. Read the license agreement and click Continue, then click Agree.
Select the OS X drive where you want to install your printer software, then click Continue. This will bring up the Easy

Install screen.

Click Install, then click Continue Installation. The printer driver and utilities will be installed.

At the last screen, click Restart to restart your system.
Adding Your Printer to the Print Center

Double-click the Applications folder on your drive.

Double-click the Utilities folder.

Double-click Print Center.

If you have not previously installed a printer into Print Center click Add. Otherwise go to Step 5.

When you see the Printer List screen, click Add Printer.

Select USB from the Directory Services at the top of this screen. Then select your printer Lexmark Z25-Z35 for the
EZ/CD Print 6500) from the list that appears and click Add.

Your printer will now appear in your Printer List. Close Print Center
file.

Installing Macintosh OS 8.5.1 to 9.x Printer Software
When the Start Here sheet instructs you to install your printer software, Follow these steps:

Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your Macintosh. Then turn on your Macintosh.

Double-click the EZCDPRINT CD-ROM icon.

Double-click the folder for your OS 8.5.1 to 9.x (located in the folder named MacOS9).

Double-click the folder for your printer model. (Make sure you have selected the correct printer model)

Double-click the EZCDInstaller Application.

At the Main Installer Menu, click Install.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation and restart your Macintosh.

Open Chooser from the Apple menu, click on your model type:
Lexmark Z25-Z35 series icon (for the EZ/CD 6500 printer)

Select the USB port used by your printer and turn on background printing.

Close the Chooser. A dialog will appear notifying you that your current configuration has changed. Select OK.
Installing CD Printing Software
Your EZ/CD Print CD-ROM includes specialized CD Printing and Design software that MUST BE
INSTALLED in order to insure the highest quality prints with your EZ/CD Print printer.

Open the EZCDPrint CD-ROM by double-clicking on it, next double-click on the EZCDSoftware folder.

Drag the Discus application, User Manuals folder and Discus Read Me folder onto your hard drive.

When running Discus the EZCDPrint CD-ROM must be in your CD-ROM drive so that Discus can access the
art file on the CD. You can also copy the art file to your hard drive. The file requires 500MB of free disc space.
