Safety instructions Ignoring any of the safety instructions can cause serious perso- nal injury and can also cause damage to the linen and the dryer. Ë Carefully read the installation and operating instructions before connecting the machine. Ë It is recommended to have the machine installed by qualified technicians. Ë The installation needs to be executed according to the Installation manual. Ë The grounding instructions must be followed in order to avoid the risk of electrocution. Ë The machine may not be exposed to high humidity, nor to extreme high or low temperatures. Ë The dryer may not be used in a closed-off room with insufficient air supply. If necessary, the doors or windows should be provided with a ventilation grate. Ë Cut off all main gas, steam and electrical supplies at the end of each operating day. Ë Before repairing or maintaining the dryer, wait until the machine is sufficiently cooled down and cut off all supply lines. Ë To prevent fire and explosion : -Keep the area around the dryer free from inflammable or combustible products. -Clean the piled-up dust in and around the dryer and fan regularly. -

Connections Connection of the central operating panel for coin operated dryers (option) At right in the wiring box, you find a plate (209/00438/00) with the clamps (A), to where the central operating panel has to be connected. There are three possible versions as the departure voltage of the operating panel. 230V AC 24V AC 24V DC Connection of the serial communication (option) If the dryer is connected to a payment system with serial communication, this connection should be fixed on this printboard (209/00540/00) by means of an RJ11. Connect the cable to the free connector on the printboard. -

Setting mode Setting menu The following buttons have a specific function in the setting menu: - Left button : decreases a value. - Middle button : confirms a value and/or continues. - Right button : increases a value. The setting menu is different for a dryer with or without coinmeter. -

Setting the Entry Code Cod (entry code) Simultaneously select the central key and the right key "+". Confirm the selection with the central key. When the machines are used for the first time, the entry code is factory-set to 123 Set the code (first display) with the + or - key. (from 0 to 9 and from A to Z, except for Q - S - W - X - Z). Confirm the selection with the central key. - Each time these keys are pressed and released, the setting is increased or decreased with ONE unit. By keeping the keys pressed, the value is changed continuously. - These rules apply to all other settings. Set the code (second display) with the + or - key. (from 0 to 9 and from A to Z, except for Q - S - W - X - Z). Confirm the selection with the central key. Set the code (second display) with the + or - key. Dryer without Coin System oPL of Coin (coin-operated dryer) Select oPL with the + key (right key). Confirm the selection with the central key. Pnd (type machine) Confirm the selection with the central key. Set the type of machine with the "+ key" (right key). Confirm the setting with the central key. HEA (heating) Confirm the selection with the central key. StM (steam) or ELE (electrical) or GAS Set the type of heating (steam, electrical or gas) with the "+ key" (right key). Confirm the setting with the central key. °C or °F With the "+key" (right key), select °C or °F. Confirm the setting with the central key. rEV (reversing) Confirm the selection with the central key. YES or no With the "+ key" (right key), set Yes or no. Confirm the setting with the central key. - Page 13 TE I (Temperature program 1) Press the middle button to continue. If necessary, change this value (default 40°C/104°F) by means of the + or - button between 25°C/77°F and 90°C/194°F. - By pressing and releasing these buttons, the adjustment is increased or decreased with 1 unit. By keeping these buttons pressed, the value is continuously changed. - These standards prevail for all adjustments, which need to be changed. Value "0" can be adjusted here as well but is only valid in case of dryers, where the temperature adjustment is being made by means of a knob. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. Ti I (Dry cycle program 1) Press the middle button to continue. If necessary, change this value (default 30) by means of the + or - button between 1 and 120 minutes. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. For dryers without reversing, the program goes immediately to "TE2". St 1 (Stop time between left - right movement of the drum) Press the middle button to continue. Change if necessary this value (default 5 seconds) by means of + or - button between 0 and 10 seconds. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. When "O" is filled in, the program goes immediately to "TE2". Because of this, the program will be executed without reversing. AC 1 ( Action time of the drum) Press the middle button to continue. Change if necessary this value (default 5 seconds) by means of the + or - button between 5 and 120 seconds. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. TE 2 (temperature program 2) Press the middle button to continue. If necessary, change this value (default 60°C/140°F) by means of the + or - button between 25°C/77°F and 90°C/194°F. Press the middle button to continue.

Ti 3 (dry cycle program 3) Press the middle button to continue. If necessary, change this value (default 30 minutes) by means of the + or - button between 1 and 120 minutes. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. For dryers without reversing, the program goes immediately to "Cd". St 3 (Stop time between left - right movement of the drum) Press the middle button to continue. Change if necessary this value (default 5 seconds) by means of the + or - button between 0 and 10 seconds. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. When "0" is filled in, the program goes immediately to "Cd". Because of this, the program will be executed without reversing.
- Page 17 AC 3 (Action time of the drum) Press the middle button to continue. Change if necessary this value (default 5 seconds) by means of the + or - button between 5 and 120 seconds. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. Cd (Cool down) This is the cool down cycle, which needs to be executed after the dry cycle. Press the middle button to continue. If necessary, change this value (default 2 minutes) by means of the + or button between 1 and 30 minutes. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. FLS (Flash: alternate description of the remaining dry time and the dry temperature). Press the middle button to continue. YES or no Select by means of the + button. no: The remaining dry time will appear during operation. YES: Besides the remaining dry time, also the dry temperature is appearing alternately during operation. Confirm the adjustment by means of the middle button. TMP (temperature sensor test) Press the middle button to continue. XX° The drum temperature is appearing now as sensor test. Meanwhile the 3 leds are lighting alternately. Press the middle button to continue. in- Here the entries are checked. When coin switch 1 is closed, 2 will be displayed on the screen. When coin switch 2 is closed, 4 will be displayed on the screen. When the door is opened, 1 will be displayed on the screen. If the dryer is equipped with a sensor measuring the drum number of revolutions, 8 will be displayed on the screen if the drum is rotated manually. When the sail switch is closed, 16 will be displayed on the screen. If the door is opened and coin switch 1 is closed, (1+2=3) 3 will be displayed on the screen. If coin switches 1 and 2 are closed, (2+4=6) 6 will be displayed on the screen, etc. Press the middle button to continue. Now End is displayed. This is the end of the setting menu. The program automatically returns to the beginning.

Coin-operated dryer oPL or Coin (coin switch) Select Coin with the "+" key. Confirm the selection with the central key. C1L (Coin 1 Low) Press the middle button to continue. This is the drying time which will be added each time a coin is inserted in coin 1. Change this value if necessary (default 10 minutes) between 1 and 30 minutes by means of the + or - button. Confirm the setting by means of the middle button. Remark If the dryer is connected to a system on which it is possible to determine a different rate according to the period of time (e.g. Sigma explorer), 3 rates (happy hour) can be programmed. (Low, Medium, High). In this case the time value of the lowest rate is put Press the middle button. Then give in the values for C1M (coin meter 1, middle rate), C1H (coin meter 1, highest rate), C2L (coin meter 2, lowest rate), C2M (coin meter 2, middle rate), C2H (coin meter 2, highest rate). If the dryer is equipped with a double coin meter, but is not connected to a system that can determine different rates, then it is only necessary to put in the value for C2L (coin meter 2, lowest rate). Add (minimum drying time) Press the middle button to continue. - Page 21 Pnd (type machine) Confirm the selection with the central key. Set the type of machine with the "+ key" (right key). Confirm the setting with the central key. HEA (heating) Confirm the selection with the central key. StM (steam) or ELE (electrical) or GAS Set the type of heating (steam, electrical or gas) with the "+ key" (right key). Confirm the setting with the central key. °C or °F With the "+key" (right key), select °C or °F. Confirm the setting with the central key. rEV (reversing) Confirm the selection with the central key. Operating instructions Opl-dryer When the dryer is connected to the electric power, 9 horizontal dashes appear for about 5 seconds. Then "O " appears on the display. Fill the drum Open the door and fill the drum. When the door is opened, "D r " is blinking on the display. Disentangle the linen as good as possible in order to avoid it from sticking together. Only then, an optimal drying result can be obtained. Overloading the drum can also lead to bad drying results. After having closed the door, "O " is displayed again. Don't ever dry fabrics, which can't resist the dry temperature. Linen, which has been treated with flammable products, needs to be aired first before being put into the drum. Select and start the Push 1 of the 3 buttons shortly and release it in order to start 1 of the preprogrammed drying cycle drying programs (see setting menu). When "YES" is choosen in the setting menu under "F L S " , then the dry time and the temperature are displayed alternately. When the temperature is indicated with degrees C, then the symbol (°) is displayed. When the temperature is indicated for values, less than 100°F, then this symbol "°F" is displayed. When the heating is activated, then the decimal point lights up. Change the remaining drying time. The remaining drying time can be reduced or extended by means of the left or the right button. If the drying time is reduced to "O " , then the cool down time starts. Temporary interruption of the remaining drying time. By opening the door, the cycle can be interrupted temporary in order to reload or to check the drying level. All functions stop, "D r " is blinking on the display and the led of the button is also blinking. However, the drying time keeps on counting down. As soon as the door is closed, the cycle needs to be started again. Early termination of the drying cycle. By pressing the middle button and releasing it again, the drying cycle is terminated. " E n d " is displayed until the door is opened. Page 32: Technical Remarks
Technical remarks Gas failure The electronic ignition of a gas-heated dryer will only try to function once for about 10 seconds. If this fails and the detection-device doesn't detect any flame (for example in case of a gas failure), then the ignition relay goes into safety. When the drying cycle restarts, then a new ignition will occur. Electronic temperature When a temperature of 4°C or less, or of 100°C or more has been detected, the protection electronic temperature protection will be activated. During operation : Temperature higher than 100°C : The heating is interrupted, but the cycle is completely finished. The display reads "ESH". Temperature lower than 4°C : When after 3 minutes a temperature lower than 4°C is detected, the heating will be interrupted. The cycle is completely finished and the display reads "EOP". The sail switch is in the back and is a protection, which interrupts the Sail switch heating, in case there is insufficient air supply. This can be the result of an inadequate exhaust, of a dirty filter. It is necessary that the sail switch can move freely. In case of a malfunction, " VEn " appears blinking on the display and the cycle continues without activating the heating. -
