INTRODUCTION This bulletin covers the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) of the 2021 Ridgeline. PDI PROCEDURES Before Starting Review these items: • Perfect Delivery documents, especially the information on battery maintenance and tire pressures • Checklist in the PDI and Final Delivery Checklist booklet Make sure you record the PDI on the appropriate pages of the checklist. The PDI is not done until this bulletin and the checklist are both complete.

Touch the keyless remote to the ENGINE START/STOP button. The indicator will switch from blinking to steady when communication is complete. Start the engine by pressing the ENGINE START/STOP button while applying the brake pedal. You must start the engine within 10 seconds of touching the remote to the button. Remove the Exterior Protective Coatings Carefully remove all of the exterior protective coatings.

Install the Back Up Fuse To lower battery drain during vehicle shipping, the No. 26 BACK UP (10 A) fuse (Sport or RTL) or No. 15 BACK UP (15 A) fuse (RTL-E or Black Edition) is removed from the under-hood fuse/relay box and stored in the glove box. Make sure you turn the ignition to OFF and wait at least 1 minute before installing the fuse.

There are several protective coverings on the interior trim pieces and some areas of the carpet. Carefully remove all interior protective coverings with clean hands to avoid soiling any surfaces. If any of the interior is dirty, clean it with mild soap or a Honda cleaning product such as the Honda Genuine Interior Car Care Kit (P/N 08700-9311A).

Under-Hood (Engine Cold) Check the Battery This vehicle comes with an absorbed glass mat (AGM) battery. To ensure long battery life and that the customer gets a fully charged battery as outlined in S/B 89-003, Battery Maintenance at Dealers, you must check it at these times: •...

Install the Body Plugs Install the body plugs as shown. Vehicle Exterior (Vehicle Lowered to Half Height) Install the Front License Plate Holder and Rear License Plate Hardware If state regulations require the use of a front license plate, install the front license plate holder as shown. Find the two dimples near the middle of the front bumper.

Vehicle Exterior (Vehicle Lowered to Ground) Set the Tire Pressures To prevent flat spots during vehicle shipping and storage, the tires are inflated to over 40 psi. If the vehicle is going into dealer storage, leave the tire pressures at 40 psi until it is sold. When the vehicle is moved to the sales lot or is sold, adjust the tire pressures as follows: Turn the ignition to ON.

Under-Hood (Engine Idling) Do the PCM Idle Learn Procedure To ensure a steady engine idle, do the PCM idle learn procedure as follows after installing the No. 26 BACK UP (10 A) fuse (Sport or RTL) or No. 15 BACK UP (15 A) fuse (RTL-E or Black Edition). Start the engine with the transmission in Park, and make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio unit, rear window defogger, lights, etc.) are turned off.

Vehicle Interior Check the Remote Engine Start Operation Starting the Engine NOTE: Make sure all doors, the hood, and the tailgate are closed before remotely starting the engine. Press the Lock button on the remote transmitter, then within 5 seconds, press and hold the Remote Engine Start button until the outside turn signals blink.

Activate the Audio System (Trim Levels Without Navigation) After installing the No. 26 BACK UP (10 A) fuse (Sport or RTL) or No. 15 BACK UP (15 A) fuse (RTL-E or Black Edition), turn the ignition to ON, then press and hold the VOL/Power AUDIO knob for at least 2 seconds. This synchronizes the audio unit with the vehicle and initializes the system for use.

® Check/Refresh the SiriusXM Radio Dealer Demo Service (RTL-E and Black Edition) (Except Alaska and Hawaii) ® The audio system comes from the factory activated with the SiriusXM Radio dealer demo service. Once you install the No. 26 BACK UP (10 A) fuse (Sport or RTL) or No. 15 BACK UP (15 A) fuse (RTL-E or Black Edition), the system receives the full range of available channels.

Check the Moonroof One-Touch Feature (RTL, RTL-E, and Black Edition) Make sure the moonroof one-touch feature works correctly: • When you firmly pull the moonroof switch back and release it, the moonroof should fully open. • When you firmly push the switch forward and release it, the moonroof should fully close. •...

NEW MODEL SERVICE INFORMATION Vehicles Equipped With Post Production Options (PPO) Certain 2021 Ridgelines may be equipped with a combination of the PPO packages. Inspect the vehicle’s Monroney label to determine which PPO package the vehicle is equipped with. Certain packages will require some attention at PDI and are listed below.

Function+ Package In addition to the steps as mentioned in the Function Package section, remove the zip ties securing the Hard Tonneau Cover handles to the rear hooks. HPD Package This package contains Fender Flares, 18” HPD Alloy Wheels, Grille, HPD Decals, HPD Emblem. No additional attention is required for this package.
