Admin Server Command-Line Tools

Red Hat Admin Server has command-line utilities which make it easier to manage the Admin Server
without having to launch the Admin Console.
This chapter explains where to find and how to use the Admin Server tools.
4.1. sec-activate
The sec-activate tool activates and deactivates SSL for the Admin Server.

The sec-activate tool is located in the /usr/lib/dirsrv/cgi-bin/ directory.

sec-activate serverRoot SSLEnabled
Argument

For example:
sec-activate /etc/dirsrv/admin-serv on
4.2. modutil
The modutil tool is a command-line utility for managing PKCS #11 module information stored in
secmod.db files or hardware tokens. modutil can perform a variety of security database operations:
• Adding and deleting PKCS #11 modules
• Changing passwords
• Setting defaults
• Listing module contents
• Enabling or disabling slots
• Enabling or disabling FIPS-140-1 compliance
• Assigning default providers for cryptographic operations
Description
The location of the Admin Server configuration
directory. The default location is /etc/dirsrv/
admin-serv.
Sets whether to turn SSL on or off for the
Admin Server.
