Harley Davidson Taillight Baseplate for Year 2000+ Models

Note: Installer of this product must have a good understanding of automotive electronics, systems, and procedures.
Replacement for OEM Part 68296-99A on 2000-2023 Harley-Davidson with OEM Fenders.
Does NOT Fit 2018-2023 Softail models or 2012-2016 Dyna Switchback (FLD).
Installation Diagram:
Note: Taillight is not shown in the diagram.
Installation:
1. Secure the motorcycle on a leveled surface with the ignition OFF.
2. Remove the taillight by loosening the two Phillips-head screws with partially threaded shank.
3. Observe the taillight circuit board's orientation and positions of the rear lighting wiring connectors if it is to be re-used.
4. Disconnect the taillight wiring harness from the taillight circuit board.
5. Disconnect the rear lighting wiring connectors from the taillight circuit board.
6. Remove the stock taillight baseplate and circuit board by loosening the large Phillips-head screw in the center.
7. Remove the circuit board from the stock baseplate and install it to new baseplate if it is to be re-used.
8. Mount the new taillight baseplate and secure onto the fender with the circuit board (if using) utilizing the large Phillips-head screw.
9. Connect the rear lighting wiring connectors to the taillight circuit board if using.
10. Connect the taillight wiring harness to the circuit board if using.
11. Secure taillight to the new taillight baseplate using the two Phillips-head screws with partially threaded shank.
12. Test the lights with the ignition ON before riding.
