3 System description 3.1 System overview System overview The VIA Freeze instruments are powered by an iMX6 ARM microcontroller running a Linux operating system. The system has an integrated SATA solid state drive that is used to boot the OS and store all system information. All VIA Freeze instruments are supplied with spare heat transfer pads. Replacement pads can be purchased by contacting Cytiva or your supplier. It is recommended to replace the heat transfer pad when it gets dirty or damaged to optimize the performance of the instrument.
