    Once you have picked up your camper or hybrid caravan it is recommended that you familiarise yourself once again with all aspects covered during your handover, and promptly report any queries to your local Maverick showroom, or place of purchase. This Owners Manual aims to cover certain processes, procedures for maintenance and pre-travel checks as well as troubleshooting advice.

    SAFETY FEATURES BREAKSAFE A device that links your trailer/caravan to your car via a cable. In the case of the hitch and safety chains connecting your car to your caravan are separated during travel, the pin within the breaksafe is released causing the electric brakes on your caravan to engage.
  • Page 5 SAFETY FEATURES BREAKSAFE CORRECT USE OF THIS FEATURE • Using a carabiner or similar, secure the breaksafe cable to the rear of the vehicle near the tow ball so that it is securely attached. • Ensure that the cable is free from wiring, plugs and other items near the front of the caravan such as the hand brake or hitch.

    SAFETY FEATURES HANDBRAKE A device that manually applies the brakes on your caravan/ trailer to stop it rolling. The handbrake works in the same way as your car handbrake. The higher you lift the handbrake, the greater the pressure applied to the brakes and the stronger the brakes will hold the trailer or caravan in position.

    SAFETY FEATURES SAFETY CHAINS Always use safety chains when towing. They maintain the connection between the trailer/caravan and tow vehicle in the event of separation of the hitch and coupling. Safety chains are included with every trailer/caravan by law. The D-shackles provided are correctly rated for that particular van.

    SAFETY FEATURES ARK XO JOCKEY WHEEL Maverick Campers proudly include an ARK XO Jockey Wheel on every camper and hybrid caravan. Thoroughly tested and continually improved, the XO Series Jockey Wheels have fast become a standard within the camper trailer and caravan industry.
  • Page 9 SAFETY FEATURES ARK XO JOCKEY WHEEL CORRECT USE OF THIS FEATURE • The large blue handle is used to swivel the jockey wheel into travel or loading positions. • A smaller silver handle allows the movement of the jockey up and down to accommodate level differences between your car and the trailer/caravan.

    SAFETY FEATURES CRUISEMASTER DO35 HITCH For safety on road and capability off it High articulation in all direction ensures the trailer always follows you in challenging terrains. High articulation also provides safety in the event of an accident on the road. Simple to use locking mechanism The DO35 features a simple positive locking mechanism.
  • Page 11 SAFETY FEATURES CRUISEMASTER DO35 HITCH CORRECT USE OF THIS FEATURE • Ensure the Tow Pin Cover is removed from the Tow Pin. • Set the coupling to the unlocked position by pushing down on the Red Lock Button while simultaneously pushing back the locking slide plate towards the Red Lock Button.

    APPLIANCES REAR VIEW CAMERA The plug & play rear view camera included in your hybrid caravan is designed to assist when reversing. A single camera is installed at the top rear of the van and hardwired to the Power switch in the van Control Panel, while the LCD monitor will be affixed in your tow vehicle and powered by the 12V plug.

    APPLIANCES WATER PUMP The water pump included in your hybrid caravan is designed to be used only when you are drawing water from the water tanks. If you are connected to mains water, ensure the water pump is turned off as the water pressure from mains may impact the pump.

    APPLIANCES TRUMA HOT WATER SYSTEM The Truma UltraRapid hot water system included in your caravan can function on both 240V and gas, and uses tank or mains water. You can set your desired water temperature (60°C or 70°C) conveniently on the control unit. If the water temperature drops, the electronics in UltraRapid reignite automatically.

    APPLIANCES DIESEL HEATER These instructions apply to the Digital Display Diesel Heaters that were/are installed in Viper hybrids from July 2023. CORRECT USE OF THIS FEATURE • Ensure you have added diesel to the diesel tank in the front toolbox by using the external filling point.

    APPLIANCES TRUMA AVENTA AIR CONDITIONER CORRECT USE OF THIS FEATURE • The roof mounted Truma Aventa Comfort air conditioner has four operating modes: COOLING - HEATING - AUTOMATIC - CIRCULATED AIR. • To use the remote control it must be pointed to the IR receiver on the control panel during operation.

    BATTERIES AND 12V REDARC MANAGER30 & 2000W INVERTER From October 2023 Maverick Viper Hybrids contain a REDARC Manager30 battery management system and a REDARC 2000W inverter as standard. This REDARC setup will be powered with a minimum of a single 200ah Maverick battery.

    SETTING UP YOUR VAN STABILISER LEGS Included with your Maverick caravan is a winder for manually winding down your stabiliser legs. Do not use a rattle gun to wind down your stabiliser legs. CORRECT USE OF THIS FEATURE • Pull the blue handle of the stabiliser leg to unlock the leg.

    SETTING UP YOUR VAN LIFTING & LOWERING THE ROOF - MANUAL CORRECT USE OF THIS FEATURE • To lift the roof first begin by unlatching the latches on the outside of the caravan. • Unpin the internal roof bars at each end of the caravan.

    BEFORE TRAVELLING BATTERIES • Check the charge of your batteries. If the battery gauge doesn’t read 100% put your caravan on charge. • When travelling, your tow vehicle will provide power to the van when connected through the anderson plug. To ensure your fridge stays cold, the Power and Fridge switches must be turned on in the control panel.
