IBM BladeCenter HS22 blade achieves competitive 2-processor scores
running SPEC CPU2006 benchmark suite
March 30, 2009 ... The IBM® BladeCenter® HS22 offers excellent performance balanced with flexible
configuration options and simple management in an efficient server designed to run a
wide range of workloads, including infrastructure, virtualization, and enterprise applications. The
HS22 supports up to two Intel® Xeon® 5500 series processors.
In recent measurements, the HS22 demonstrated competitive performance for a 2-socket Intel
processor-based system on the SPEC CPU2006 benchmark suite.
For the SPECint2006 and SPECfp2006 runs, the HS22 was configured with two Quad-Core Intel
Xeon X5570 processors (2.93GHz, 256KB L2 cache per core and 8MB L3 cache per processor—2
processors/8 cores/16 threads), 12GB of DDR3 PC3-10600R memory, and SUSE Linux® Enterprise
Server 10 x64 SP2.
For the rate runs, the HS22 was configured with two Quad-Core Intel Xeon X5570 processors
(2.93GHz, 256KB L2 cache per core and 8MB L3 cache per processor—2 processors/8 cores/16
threads), 24GB of DDR3 PC3-10600R memory, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5 Update 3. (1)
The scores in the following table are the first SPEC CPU2006 results published for this HS22
processor model.
