NOTE: Perform this procedure after you have enabled ALUA on VMware ESX/ESXi and verified if the host server is
using ALUA for the MD storage array. For more information, see
Verifying If Host Server Is Using ALUA For MD Storage
To set a round-robin load balancing policy on your ESX/ESXi-based host server:
1.
Do one of the following:
For ESX 4.x, run the following command:
# esxcli nmp satp setdefaultpsp –psp VMW_PSP_RR –satp VMW_SATP_ALUA
For ESX/ESXi 5.x, run the following command:
# esxcli storage nmp satp set --default-psp VMW_PSP_RR --satp
VMW_SATP_ALUA

Reboot your ESX-based host server.
